First Avenue Destination: The Bookstore Bar

First Avenue Destination: The Bookstore Bar

A library of select drinks and specialty nibbles

Located at the entrance of the Alexis Hotel on First Avenue, The Bookstore Bar is a hungry reader's dream: adventurous drinks, daring dishes and bounteous shelves of books. Featuring specialty whiskey and scotch flights, select wines, house cocktails and high quality bar fare, The Bookstore offers creative drink and food pairings for many tastes and appetites.

Its interior naturally resembles an antique bookstore with the addition of a long bar and numerous round tables with high chairs for patrons to perch or lean upon. The large windows and sidewalk seating are prime locations to observe bustling First Avenue and catch a few rays on an occasional sunny day.

Coincidentally, the bar and tables fill up quickly during Seattle sporting events and happy hour, which is undoubtedly the best time to swing by for Bookstore specials. House wine, draft beer and select well drinks quench the thirst of happy hour enthusiasts and small bites like marcona almonds and blue fries are available for $8 or less.

Happy hour is 4-7 p.m. daily, but The Bookstore also offers an extensive brunch, lunch and dinner menu. Fresh soups, salads and dishes like the Library Bistro Burger make The Bookstore a popular downtown destination for bookworms and anybody with an appetite for classic American fare with a Seattle kick.
